Char Dham, Vrindavan
Char Dham is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking temples in Vrindavan. It is located on NH-2 near Chhatikara Chauraha and is spread across 28 acres. The temple is also connected through Vrindavan Road and has two main gates for entry—one from NH-2 and the other from the Vrindavan side.
When you enter the Char Dham temple, the first thing you see is a massive 165-feet tall statue of Lord Shiva. The statue is so huge and realistic that it feels like you’re really standing in front of Lord Shiva himself.
Char Dham Temple is made up of four main temples:
- Shiv Dham
- Radha Krishna Dham
- Shani Dham
- Vaishno Devi Dham
Earlier, the temple was known as Vaishno Devi Dham, but after the addition of Shiv Dham, Radha Krishna Dham, and Shani Dham, it is now called Char Dham. The temple has a modern and unique architectural design. The domes of the temples are cone-shaped with steps on them. Inside the campus, you will also see beautiful waterfalls and stunning paintings in each dham.
The temple was opened to the public on 8th February 2025 and has been developed by J.C. Chaudhry.
Char Dham, Vrindavan Timing
Morning: 06:00 am – 01:00 pm
Evening: 04:00 pm – 08:00 pm
Shiv Dham
As soon as you enter Char Dham, you are greeted by the 165-foot tall statue of Lord Shiva standing on top of Shiv Dham. In front of the temple, there are also statues of Ardhanarishwar, Nataraj, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Kartikeya. Around the temple, there are beautiful models related to Lord Shiva like the Trishul (trident), third eye, damru (drum), and snakes.
Inside the temple, the walls are decorated with amazing paintings of Lord Shiva. The main idol shows Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with Ganesha and Kartikeya sitting in their laps and Nandi ji at their feet. The idols look so lifelike that you won’t be able to take your eyes off them.
Radha Krishna Dham
In front of Radha Krishna Dham, there are beautiful statues showing Lord Krishna’s pastimes, like Kaliya Daman and lifting the Govardhan hill. Around the temple, you will find artistic models of Krishna’s flute, peacock feather, and other symbols.
Inside, the walls are filled with colorful paintings of Radha Rani and Lord Krishna. The idols of Radha Krishna are incredibly beautiful and peaceful to look at.
Shani Dham
Next to Radha Krishna Dham is Shani Dham. In front of the temple, you will see a statue of Surya Rath. Inside, the walls are covered with paintings of Lord Shani Dev, and the main idol of Shani Dev is placed in the center. The idol feels so divine that many people say they feel positive energy just by looking at it.
Vaishno Devi Dham
Vaishno Devi Dham has a 141-foot tall statue of Mata Vaishno Devi. Under this statue, there is a prayer hall where the idol of Vaishno Mata is worshipped. The walls of the hall have paintings of different gods.
One of the biggest attractions here is the cave designed to look like the original Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu. Inside the cave, you can see all nine forms of the goddess, each beautifully displayed. Visiting this dham gives you the feeling of being at the real Vaishno Devi temple.
