The Basanti Kamra is only open twice a year during Basant Panchami and Jhulan Yatra celebrations. Step into the colorful world of Basanti Kamra also known as Rituraj Bhawan, a room that shines with history and charm. Known for its bright yellow color, this special place is a true gem of elegance and beauty.
Inside, you’ll find the walls and ceiling painted with vibrant colors that tell stories of the past. The throne, doors, and tall mirrors, some as big as ten feet, are all covered in shiny gold. Even though they are more than 140 years old, they still sparkle and shine brightly.
Above you, the ceiling is painted in a dome shape and holds fifteen large chandeliers made of beautiful Belgium glass. Each chandelier has its own color, like white, red, yellow, orange, and green. One chandelier in light yellow stands out with its twelve-foot size, adding a warm glow to the room.
In the past, before 1940, Vrindavan had no electricity, and the room was lit by wax candles on the chandeliers. Now, with modern times, electric bulbs light up the room, creating a magical reflection in the numerous mirrors that fill the space.
At the center of Basanti Kamra, you’ll find three fountains made from a single block of white marble. These fountains, carved with care and placed in a unique way, bring a sense of peace and beauty to the room.
As you stand in Basanti Kamra, surrounded by its golden decorations, colorful chandeliers, and peaceful fountains, you’ll be filled with wonder and appreciation for this special place at Rituraj Bhawan.
