Keshi Ghat is a beautiful and holy place located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Vrindavan. The ghat is named after a story from Lord Krishna Life, where Lord Krishna defeated a demon named Keshi, who was a giant horse sent by the evil King Kansa.
After killing the demon, Krishna came to this spot to wash His hands and to take take a bath in the holy waters of the Yamuna, which were dirty from the battle. From that time, this place became known as Keshi Ghat.
It Was Built by Queen of Bharatpur Laxmi Devi in late 17th Century in Rajasthani Architectural Style.
Keshi Ghat is considered a sacred place. It is believed that anyone who touches, drinks, sees, smells, or bathes in the waters of the Yamuna here becomes purified. People from all over the world come to Keshi Ghat to pray, take a dip in the holy river, and enjoy its peaceful and spiritual atmosphere.

History of Keshi Ghat, Vrindavan
Kansa, the evil king of Mathura and Krishna’s uncle, wanted to kill young Krishna. He sent many powerful demons to Vrindavan, but Krishna and His brother Balarama defeated them all.
Frustrated, Kansa sent a very powerful demon named Keshi. Keshi turned into a huge, wild horse and ran toward Vrindavan. His speed was like the wind, and his hooves shook the ground. His tail was so high that it reached the clouds.
In Vrindavan, Krishna was playing with His friends, the cowherd boys. They did not know that the demon was coming. One of Krishna’s friends, Madhu Mangal, asked Krishna to give him His peacock feather crown, flute, and yellow clothes, thinking it would make him more popular with the Gopis.
At the same time, Keshi searched for the boy with the peacock feather, flute, and yellow clothes, just as Kansa had described. When he saw Madhu Mangal dressed like Krishna, he angrily charged at him. Madhu Mangal was scared and called out to Krishna for help. Krishna came quickly to save His friend.
Keshi tried to kick Krishna with his front legs, but Krishna grabbed his legs and threw him far away. The demon then opened his mouth to swallow Krishna. Krishna pushed His hand into Keshi’s mouth, expanded it, and killed the demon.
After the fight, Krishna’s hand was dirty from Keshi’s mouth. So, He went to the Yamuna River to wash Himself. From that day on, the place where He bathed was called Keshi Ghat.
Today, Keshi Ghat is a holy place where many people come to pray, bathe in the river, and remember Lord Krishna’s victory over the demon Keshi
