The Dwarkadhish Temple is a famous temple in the center of Mathura, located near the Yamuna River. In this historic temple, Lord Krishna is worshipped in his form as Dwarkanath, along with Goddess Radha. It is one of the oldest and largest temples in Mathura, close to Vishram Ghat and Kans Quila. Many people take a dip in the holy waters of the Yamuna River before visiting the temple to purify themselves.
The temple is known for its beautiful Rajasthani architecture, with detailed carvings and decorations. The idol of Lord Krishna is made of black marble, while the idol of Rukmini, his consort, is in white marble. The entrance hall has a wonderfully carved pillar, an open courtyard in the center, and a colorful painted ceiling.
Visitors can also participate in a circumambulation (parikrama) around the temple, which adds to the spiritual experience.

History of Dwarkadhish Temple Mathura
The Dwarkadhish Temple was built in 1814 by Seth Gokul Das Parikh, who was the treasurer of the Gwalior State under the Scindia rulers. He was a devoted follower of Lord Krishna and wanted to create a beautiful place of worship. He built the temple with the approval and support of Shrimant Daulatrao Scindia, the Maharajah of Gwalior, who donated funds for its construction.
The temple has become an important spiritual site in Mathura, attracting many visitors and devotees over the years.
