About Raval Temple

Raval is the divine birthplace of Shrimati Radharani, the eternal consort of Lord Krishna and the embodiment of His pleasure potency. This sacred village holds a traditional charm, deeply rooted in its spiritual significance.

In Raval, there is a small and beautiful temple known as the Ladli-Lal Temple, dedicated to Radha and Krishna. The deity of Krishna in this temple is believed to have been established by Vajranabh, Krishna’s great-grandson, over 5,000 years ago. In this temple, Shrimati Radharani is worshipped in her baby form, symbolizing her divine innocence and purity.

The Appearance of Radharani in Raval

It is said that one early morning, Vrishabhanu Maharaj, the father of Radharani, went to bathe in the Yamuna River. There, he saw a radiant lotus flower with a hundred petals floating on the water. In the center of the lotus lay a beautiful baby girl—Shrimati Radharani herself. Overwhelmed with joy, he carefully lifted the baby and brought her home, placing her in the lap of his wife, Kirti Devi.

However, they noticed that their baby girl did not open her eyes, leading them to believe she might be blind.

Narad ji Visit

Shri Narad ji knew that since Krishna had appeared on earth, Radharani must have also taken birth. He searched everywhere and finally arrived at Vrishabhanu Maharaj’s house.

“Do you have children?” Narad ji asked.

“Yes, I have a son named Shridama and a daughter,” replied Vrishabhanu.

Narad ji asked to see the baby girl and bless her. When Vrishabhanu expressed concern about her blindness, Narad ji reassured him, suggesting they celebrate her birth with great joy. Following his advice, Vrishabhanu arranged a grand celebration, inviting the residents of Gokul, Raval, and his dear friend, Nanda Maharaj.

Radha Opens Her Eyes

During the celebration, Nanda Maharaj and Yashoda arrived with their son, Krishna. While the mothers were discussing the newborn baby, little Krishna quietly entered the room where Radharani lay. Climbing onto her bed, Krishna gently touched her eyes. Instantly, Radharani opened her eyes for the first time and gazed upon the enchanting beauty of Krishna.

The miraculous event brought immense joy to everyone, and the villagers celebrated the divine moment with great enthusiasm.
